A Teacher's View on Textbooks; Snow!

Textbooks are essentially holding tanks for lovely and fragile ideas which disintegrate upon release into the torpor of the classroom.

On a less despairing note, I'm enjoying the year's first snowfall. Big, soft flakes fluttering down and even sticking to the ground. I'm starting to think about cross-country skiing. Not that we'll get enough snow for that today, but when the first big blast of snow finally gets here (if it gets here), I'll be more than ready.
