Not much time to write since I got back from Akron--loads of papers to grade. And I'm behind, owing to my Akron trip last week and my fishing trip before that.
While final grading is a grind, it's also satisfying. I can see that nearly all the papers have been written with care, and show at least some substantive reflection on what we talked about. Quite a bit, in some cases. Sometimes I wonder if I'm accomplishing anything in my classes. But usually by the time we get to the end of the term, it's pretty clear my pupils are. And that's my year-end bonus.
