Huron River 6/21; (Huge) Fake Plastic Fish

Went to Island Park for a couple of hours last night.  Water super low--lots of bare gravel bars in spots where the water is knee high at typical midsummer water levels.  Dragged in a bunch of baby smallmouth on an OWB; switched to a black/orange cherno ant when I got into some quiet water and caught three rock bass that were 6" or so--semi-respectable fish.  It's a wonder I even got those since the ant was under near-constant assault by bluegill that couldn't get it in their mouths.

Beautiful rainbow last night.  It actually did sprinkle for ten or fifteen minutes while I fished, though my shirt didn't get wet (left my rain jacket at home); the rain was too light.  Refreshing after a couple of back to back 90 degree days.

Some folks at the Rio +20 climate conference must have gotten extremely bored, creative, and  thirsty.  Giant fish sculptures made from discarded plastic bottles:

If one of the conference attendees blows his/her travel grant money on the nightlife,  the deposit on these could fund a plane ride home.  More cool pics here.
