Like other bloggers, I have one of those site meter thingies that tell me how many visits I've had and (usually) where they come from. It's flattering to see visitors from all over the world venture into this little corner of the web, though I was a little chagrined to see the majority never get to the home page. The bulk of visitors arrive via searches for information about the late
Fred Trost or to see some picture I filched from some other site--a painting of the Ascension of Christ seems currently to be the #1 draw to
FTR.
I feel invisible!
Tonight it's off to the annual family Christmas party in Kalamazoo. This year we switched from exchanging gifts to giving to each others' favorite charities. I've always liked that idea, but I probably wouldn't do it unless I was certain someone really preferred that to a gift. No one asked me, but I never needed convincing. And, as one of my sisters said, it just makes more sense than passing gift cards to each other.
