Iran's status in the eyes of American conservatives may have improved just a shade today. From the International Herald Tribune:
TEHRAN. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran called Tuesday for a purge of liberal and secular teachers from Iranian universities, urging students to lead the step back to 1980s-style radicalism.
"Today, students should shout at the president and ask why liberal and secular university lecturers are present in the universities," Ahmadinejad was quoted by the official Islamic Republic News Agency as saying during a meeting with a group of students.
More than a few people in this country would love to do the same thing.
